2006, A Yardstick
2006 was a unique year for me. I can honestly say most of my years are the same, year in and year out. Things are usually stagnant, boring, depressing, and I feel tossed about in a vacuum.
I keep telling myself, I'm going to write a post about my year. Who really wants to read that shit though? Why do we write about ourselves as if we're so important? Do you really think anyone truly cares that you had an epiphany about peanut butter being the new black this year? Maybe we care if you had a child or a death in the family, but simple things like "I started a taco bell diet.", well, I don't care much for.
So I've decided to only write things that I think I personally would want to have to read. And if I don't think they are, they'll stay in the personal folder, or family to torment Brian.
I propose a New Year's Resolution for the world of Vox, Blogging, and beyond. Please don't fill up valuable bytes in a distant somewhere talking about your diet, your hair, your new shoes, or other trivial things. Save it up for something good that will brighten someone's day, something that might change the world, something interesting, something beautiful, something inspiring!
